evac.lt puts a shelter map, navigation, first-aid advice and a library on your phone. Whatever you’ve downloaded keeps working when there’s no internet.
How to use it
Install
The shelter data and the overview map are there straight away.
Download
While you have internet, download your country’s map and whatever you’d like in the library.
Use it offline
From then on it works without internet. Try it in flight mode.
Where’s the nearest shelter
Open the app and you see the nearest shelter and how far it is. The map has every shelter, collective protection building and evacuation point published by PAGD, Lithuania’s Fire and Rescue Department.
Tap a place to see what it is and how to get there. The data updates when you open the app with an internet connection.
Routes without internet
Find an address and get a walking or driving route with no connection. Voice navigation works in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland, including across the borders.
If the road is blocked, switch to an arrow that simply points the way and shows the distance.
What to do when the siren sounds
The Help tab has short instructions for an air raid, evacuation, a power cut or first aid, based on guidance from PAGD and the Ministry of National Defence.
It also shows your coordinates, to read out to 112 if you don’t know the address, and the LRT RADIJAS frequency where you are.
A library on your phone
You can download a medical encyclopedia, Lithuanian Wikipedia, official publications and survival manuals. Search works in Lithuanian and English.
You decide how much space the library gets. The encyclopedias come with or without pictures.
Share without internet
Maps and library packs can be passed from phone to phone by AirDrop or as a file. One person downloads them, and everyone else gets them from that phone, even when the internet is down.
It’s safe: the app only installs genuine evac.lt packs.
How it’s built
Offline
Anything you’ve downloaded works without a connection. The internet is only needed to download and update.
No tracking
No accounts, no ads, no analytics. Your location never leaves your phone.
Verified data
Packs are signed, so the app can check that nobody has tampered with them.
Easy to update
Open the app with internet and the shelter data updates itself. Other packs update with one tap, downloading only what changed.
Why we built it
Shelter maps don’t guide you to the shelter, map apps don’t know where the shelters are, and encyclopedias don’t come with a plan. We wanted all of it in one place, working without a connection.
